Information for Newcomers

The government of Alberta has issued the guide Welcome to Alberta for all newcomers, including temporary foreign, who have moved to Alberta and/or are interested in setting here.  The information can be found on the following link: This guide provides general information to help newcomers:

 

• Find a place to stay;

• Apply for Social Insurance Number;

• Register for Alberta Health Care;

• Improve English Language Skills;

• Enroll children in school;

• Find work (see note 1);

• Get a driver license;

• Stay in Canada; and

• Enjoy Canada

 

 

 

 

 

In addition to the information provided in the guide (page 44), in Calgary exists at list three offices that provide not only information, but also offer training/seminar for newcomers to adapt hem to the field labor in Canada. The offices are:
