The Venezuelan Canadian Association of Calgary launched this initiative. The Parents and Grandparents Club’s wishes to bring together senior members of the community to share experiences that allow them to avoid feelings of loneliness or helplessness that could dampen their spirits at any time.
Objective
Through the Parents and Grandparents Club, the organisation assists the Spanish-speaking senior community in overcoming social isolation and establishing themselves in Canada due to a lack of English skills.
Furthermore, this project has been gradually growing and evolving. Now, it includes people from Venezuela and other Spanish-speaking nationalities.
The requirements to join the club are the following:
- Being a senior.
- Any nationality is acceptable (fluency in Spanish is required).
- Send an email to info@vcac.info to obtain the information needed to join the group.
